ETEAQ, pronounced like the French word ethique, set out to simultaneously provide sustainable accessories and save the world’s disappearing forests. Every ETEAQ produce has been crafted using reclaimed Indonesian teak wood that’s been salvaged in Java, Indonesia.
In the TreeTracker application, buyers can also see the name of the farmer that planted their tree. By showcasing the direct connection between purchase and tree, you can visualize the positive impact of the clients purchase, ETEAQ hopes to inspire more mindful consumer behavior and increase interest in environmental issues.
ETEAQ products are engraved with a unique World Identification Number (WIN) that allows consumers to locate a tree that they automatically adopt upon purchasing an ETEAQ piece. Consumers are then invited to journey virtually to view the exact location of their tree using their WIN via Tree Tracker, a unique web application created by ETEAQ using Google Earth. ETEAQ’s partner in the tree-planting program is the Trees4Trees foundation – a not-for-profit organization in Indonesia, which empowers local communities through partnership reforestation initiatives and related education programs. The ETEAQ launch is supported in Hong Kong by TREE – the city’s first eco-chic furniture boutique, ETEAQ’s retail partner in Hong Kong.
ETEAQ’s first collection, dubbed the ‘Pure Collection’ consists of iPhone cases for iPhone 5/5S, 6 and 6 Plus, as well as iPhone docks and chic stands for smart phones, mini tablets and tablets. The one-of-a kind pieces allow the natural beauty of the recycled teak wood to shine, while matte black case frames made from industrial recycled biodegradable plastic and chic tags made from recycled aluminum give each piece a modern edge. Clean lines, naturally beautiful wood and simple sculpting characterize the ETEAQ designs, which achieve a fresh, contemporary feel with a fantastic one-of-kind story behind each piece.
