An innovative, all-inclusive art event designed by Design Network Asia engaging the (Next Generation) Hong Kong public via social media and innovative technology to broaden the Art scene to the Hong Kong public.
The event “Art & Antique Hollywood Roadshow” part of the inaugural “Social Media Week” in Hong Kong included involving students from various universities working with us as volunteers throughout the process, while gaining insight in event planning, design, communication as well as building connections for their future careers.
This all inclusive Art race throughout Hong Kong aimed to engage the Next Generation to appreciate Art and to lower the threshold of enjoying the many inspiring Art Galleries in Hong Kong. The scavenger hunt inspired race involved Social Media technology (QR Codes, Google Maps, Social Media Channels) revolving around Art and Design.
Objective: The Race guides the player from art gallery to art gallery by using a smart phone with a QR code reader. The QR codes unlocks one page of information on the mobile application about the Art gallery and one featured art work, as well as the location of the next stop in the race. People signed up for this event using various Social Media Channels.
